Procedures
Visa Steps, Procedures, and Timeline
First, the company has to be incorporated and have a valid Trade license. The first move is to apply for a quota from the Naturalization & Residency Department for its workers.
The Naturalization & Residency Department is interested in the career and specific information of applicants. It can take from one to five working days to get the necessary approvals.
The next step is to submit all the requisite documentation for acceptance of the Work Permit electronically. Professional designations of higher ranks would have to be justified by submitting notarized and attested educational qualifications.
There are certain factors in this process to determine the amount of time this process would take. For example, certain nationalities need additional approvals. There are also comprehensive checks with respect to lists of UN sanctions. Thus, this phase can take up to a day, or even more, if there are any complications in the name search. Mostly within a span of ten working days, requests are completed.
After the requisite authorization has been approved, the residence visa process starts. The entry permit is issued titled as 'Entry Permit,'' which is then provided to the applicant.
The permit holder is expected to undergo a medical examination at designated medical centers in the UAE, and reports can be obtained within 24 hours or up to 72 hours, depending on the case urgency and additional fees. In order to issue the Emirates ID card, which is compulsory in the UAE, there is also a fingerprinting procedure and photo capture.
The employee's residency visa is then stamped on the employee's passport, and their Emirates ID is sent to the specified address via post.
